What a wonderful time we had during term one. Thank you for allowing us into your home to visit and making us all feel so welcome. We also enjoyed our first parent - key worker meetings and want to thank you all for making the effort to attend. We really value your contribution to assisting us with your child’s learning development.
Don’t forget you can upload pictures and comments to your child’s learning journey at any time and these are really appreciated as we can get lots of talking opportunities from these!
PHASE 1 (NURSERY & RECEPTION)
Collectively, the Nursery and Reception are called Early Years in Ashford Oaks. So, welcome to the Ashford Oaks Early Years!
We believe every child is unique and we are committed to providing a happy, safe, stimulating environment for all children to play, learn and develop. Children and their families are at the heart of everything we do.
Gemma Rayner phase leader
We know that young children learn best through inspired, quality self-chosen play opportunities. Throughout the year children will be engaged in a balance of play and teacher directed activities.
During child initiated time the children will be exposed to a huge spectrum of engaging activities including role play, story sharing, art, music and cooking both indoors and out!
Each child has a key person who will capture your child’s progress and learning in their online “Learning Journal”. This is like a photo album of your child’s journey through the Early Years. We also encourage you to contribute to this as often as you wish via the website. The children have a busy book to record their own learning and to keep special focussed observations.
We hope that your child will enjoy his/her time at Ashford Oaks. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak to us. We are continually evaluating our practices to ensure we are providing the most effective provision. We welcome any comments or suggestions, which could help us to do this.
