message from the
chair of governors
I was welcomed into Ashford Oaks in 2017 as Vice Chair of Governors, a few months later becoming Chair of Governors and have been part of, and witnessed, the most remarkable changes in the school’s leadership and history since its inception.
Our long standing headteacher retired, Covid struck, education delivery became very different, our deputy head teacher stepped up becoming our interim headteacher, she retired, and we now have a new head teacher and deputy head teacher. The pandemic is slowly receding, although still presenting many issues, and we are chomping at the bit to make dramatic improvements to our children’s outcomes. With the current emphasis on United Nations Convention on Children’s Rights, every child has a right to learning, and we aim to provide a quality education to every child.
We have a great team of governors who support the school, whether they are Local Authority, Parent, Co-opted or Staff governors, we all are interested in progressing the school. If you are interested in becoming a governor, contact the office staff and they will get your details and put you in the right direction.
